The Butterfly's Dream by ~Seikken:iconSeikken:

I dream, as all people dream,
of pearly mountains and emerald-topped trees,
of sapphire seas, and a brilliant star stream.
I have seen these things as no one  else sees.
each fantasy a shining paradise.
Yet, the Butterfly’s dream is the greatest of these.

A dream of brilliant colors and dazzling light,
gliding and fluttering amongst endless fields of joy.
My troubles struggle to halt this delightful flight,
but they fall behind, remembered as a lost toy.
They wilt amidst the fields of endless blooms,
for sorrow cannot hinder the heart of this dear boy.

That is the Butterfly’s Dream,
that is its course.
Other whims may gleam,
chasing away guilt and remorse.
But no misfortune can compete,
For joy is its source.

As long as it's your own style, I don't think the ryhming scheme matters. Well, I mean unless you care about it that is!!!

I agree. But I personally feel with my work, that I can't just write it down and throw it out there for people to see. I have to nurture it into something I can read later, and wonder if it was actually me who wrote it. This one is my favorite because I remember writing it, but I can't believe I did.
